Question for ya: in your description you said ""Now alot of this requires manual edits which I’m sure made many of you write this mod off already."" Does this mean I need to do some manual edits or is that referring to the changes made by this mod?
The mod does manual edits. and as for the mare’s leg unofficial update, nah. The .357 mare’s leg is more of an implied thing than being a set and stone mare’s leg.
I’ll end up making an AIO once the series is complete. Right now I plan on doing the mod in “Chunks” like “Easy Pickings” (Which will be easy to rebalance weapons like the Double Barrel and combat shotgun. And “Rifle Pack” which rebalances all the rifles in the game. And so on. Though I won’t be adding weapons on a lot of em. This was a special case because we kinda lack lever weapons lol.
Also, if viewing it from a certain perspective, suppressors doing reduced damage is not necessarily unrealistic. .45-70 Gov't, even in the original black powder loads, achieves supersonic velocities and would thus make a sonic boom regardless of whether a suppressor was present to muffle the muzzle blast. If we assume the Sole Survivor is loading reduced velocity subsonic ammunition to eliminate this supersonic sound, which could be implied by just how effective suppressors are in this game, the rounds would be doing less damage than their supersonic counterparts. In fact, running some numbers, the damage loss may be closer to 20% if we interpret damage as being proportional to velocity. Yes, you may Nerd Emoji me.
There's a soft incompatibility with the lever-action patch on the BCR modpage where the guns will use left-handed lever-action animations unless you attach a long-tube barrel.

EDIT: After having played with this mod, I'm loving it. Great work, yet again! Hope to see more sensible overhauls.

This could pair up quite nicely with my LARO mod!
Nice attachments and textures! Finally more love for the Lever Action gun
