Is it possible to add a mechanic where when you die you start as a fresh character on the same save, and you can find your previous character’s body with their loot? That way it’s the same save game but you have to start from scratch, I’m assuming quest progression would remain the same.
First death of many. Skk combat stalkers spawned a whole group of hostiles in front of me 🥲 . It was hard. Using Main + true damage + scourge + an76 and looted world.

Game CTD today upon death (pretty sure I died, a high level Gunner was point blank with an LMG). I've got a piece of gear that has the legendary Auto Sim effect on it...I wonder if that caused the issue? Regardless, I'm nearly certain I died, but didn't get the death animation, just crashed immediately to desktop and there is no obituary in the Overwrite directory.
Like if the player's "Lives" increases along with his level, so if he is level 10 he will have 10 live, when he dies once the level remains the same but the player's live is reduced to 9
Level up from 1 to 10, 1 level gives 1 life level up from 11 to 20, 2 levels give 1 life level up from 31 onwards, 5 levels give 1 life at level 201 Player will have 49 live if he didn't die even once
This will give some risk of permadeath, but it won't be as punishing. I mean, if I'm level 200 and die a permadeath, somehow, I will feel satisfied with my life, lmao, like an old man.
You clearly don't understand what Permadeath means. In fact I would argue that this mod is already too forgiving. It should be made so that when you die, you cant play the game anymore. Only one save and one life. Right now it's set to if you die you can still create a new save.
I really want to try this mod. My biggest concern is running up against a car and having the game engine kill me. Am I out of luck if that happens? Or is it only weapons/gravity that activates permadeath?
Due to Nexus ToS there is an option in the .ini that will copy saves next to Obituary.txt. Make sure to also restore the .f4se files too as they're used by the Fallout 4 Script Extender. It is enabled by default to prevent funny little accidents (and to comply with Nexus), but in my opinion should be disabled for the best experience to prevent cheating
But to be honest, you're speaking Greek to me. What does it mean to restore the .f4se files? Is the "funny little accidents" referring to bugs in the game engine causing death? I promise, I read the description. But It's a little cryptic, and I'm not that bright. That's why I ventured into the discussion tab.
Basically I can't go deleting saves willy-nilly because Nexus will get mad at me. So there's a setting in the .ini (on by default) that when you die will cause the plugin to delete your saves, but also make a copy of them in a Permadeath folder (check Overwrite folder if you're on MO2, idk about Vortex). The .f4se files are co-saves created by F4SE as the game uses .fos files for saves, I just mean that you should restore both the .fos and .f4se to not have any issues
If you turn that setting off then saves are deleted completely without any back-ups made.
Thanks for the mod, that was difficult at the beginning with maim but i managed to survive and have the feeling that my character can die for sure make the difference
