Collect books around the valley!

These are not power books. Instead, they're just regular books - novels, guides, magazines etc - created using secret note mechanics and hidden around the valley for fun. Each book has a short written excerpt, and once read, will show up in your secret notes page.

Secret Note Framework and Spacecore are required dependencies for this mod to work.

To start collecting these books, you will need to have obtained both the Magnifying Glass and the Bear's Knowledge powers (Bear's Knowledge is the maple syrup quest). This mod can be added to preexisting saves. Note that it might take a day or two for the books to start showing up once you obtain those powers or add this mod to your save.

Once you have those, you can start looking for books by interacting with map tiles (be sure to look around bookshelves!) and checking various shops. Some books may only appear after certain conditions have been met. When you find a book, read it like you would any other secret note. If you would ever like to re-read a book, you can click on it in your secret notes page.

Books that you have read will show up in the Booksellers shop, as well as a few other shops around town. Those books can then be gifted to NPCs; vanilla NPCs have custom book gift tastes and dialogue based on the genre of the book!

Once you've read 15 books, you'll unlock a new passive festival called the Book Fair that takes place on Spring 9 in Pelican Town, where you can buy various books (the number of books available for sale will increase as you find more books).

Compatibilities
Stardew Valley Expanded: compatible!
Other expansions (RSV, ES, VMV, PC etc): should be compatible but let me know if you find any issues.
Other book mods: should be compatible but let me know if you find any issues.
Less Ugly Town Interiors: compatible!
Multiplayer: I tried to set this up to work in multiplayer, but I haven't been able to test it with that, so let me know if you find any issues and I'll see what I can do.

Additional Books
Below are mods that add more books for you to collect when they are also installed:
Morris Redeemed

Mod Authors
This mod supports other mods adding their own book packs, as well as modders giving their own NPCs book-related gift tastes and dialogue. See the Articles tab for a guide and some tips if you're interested :)
There's also a template under Optional Files to make it easy to add books, and I've added helpful comments to some of my mod files if you'd like to look in there and see what I did directly.

Translations
This mod is i18n-compatible! If you translate it, please send me your translation file so I can add it to the mod. No AI translations please.
