2.0: Fixed and completely reworked. 15 main categories, 13 of which are flyouts, and 68 sub-categories.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
While reworking this, I discovered a bug with MO2 where upon replacing the categories.dat file and re-opening MO2 it would add MO2's old categories to the bottom of the file. If this happens close MO2, open categories.dat in a text editor, highlight everything BELOW "83|Miscellaneous|0", delete and then save. Re-open MO2 and it should be fine after that.
Why it exists:
I wasn't happy with the sorting of the original Mod Organizer 2 categories and thought I would share.
What it does:
Changes the Mod Categories for Skyrim SE/AE in Mod Organizer 2 to be a little more cleaned up and streamlined. Can be used with my Separators or standalone.
I tried to tie the Nexus Category numbers to where the majority of the mods in said category would be placed in a normal mod list. Ex., mods downloaded from the "Alchemy" section on the site will automatically be placed under "Gameplay->Alchemy" as most of the mods in that section make gameplay alterations. If there is a mod that an author improperly categorized, just right click the mod, click "Change Categories", UNCHECK the current category, then select the one that you think fits best. Easy? Easy.
Manual Install ONLY
First, make a backup of the original "categories.dat" AND "nexuscatmap.dat"files.
Place "categories.dat" AND "nexuscatmap.dat" into the following location on your computer:
Root(C:\, D:\, etc.)"%LocalAppData%\ModOrganizer\SkyrimSE (possibly variable and based on what you named the MO2 instance)"
